Chair – Barb Cole
Barb is an authentic leader who cares as deeply about the people with whom she works, as she does about the outcomes of the assignments she undertakes.
With expertise in risk management, governance and legal and regulatory compliance, Barb draws upon two
decades of experience across multiple industry sectors including education; oil and gas; energy; renewables; telecommunications; and legal
and professional services. Most recently, Barb headed up the Regulatory Compliance discipline globally for a large oil and gas company, presenting to the CEO & Executive Team and the Board’s Audit & Risk Committee. She currently serves as Deputy Chair on the Board of an independent school in Perth.
Barb is delighted to be newly appointed as Chair of Sotos Syndrome Australasia. As a parent herself, she knows how challenging family-life can be without the added complexities of a medical diagnosis. She has witnessed firsthand the impact that Sotos Syndrome can have on families through the experience of one of her dearest friends whose daughter was born with this rare genetic disorder.
She is looking forward to contributing to improve the support available for families who are part of the Sotos Syndrome journey.
Treasurer – Lisa Rynne
Lisa is a Co-Founder and the Treasurer of Sotos Syndrome Association Australasia, a passion project inspired by the diagnosis of her daughter Lettie with Sotos Syndrome. The non-profit was established in 2018 to raise awareness of Sotos Syndrome and provide support and advocacy for those affected by the rare genetic disorder that causes physical overgrowth during the first years of life.
For over 18 years, Lisa has delivered bookkeeping and operational business support services to a range of clients across Perth under her management consulting business, Applied Resources. Lisa is highly skilled across strategic leadership, human resource management and corporate finance, holds an MBA and currently resides in Perth.
Secretary – Jessica Swansen
Originally from country NSW Jess moved to Perth 10 years ago. She is a mum of two
boys, works in the finance sector and loves to create in her spare time.
She met Lisa (Lettie’s mum) about 9 years ago through work and has had the pleasure of knowing Lettie since she was born. It makes her so happy to know that she can help to support not only her friend and her family but others who may need it via the association.
