Chair – Barb Cole

Barb is an authentic leader who cares as deeply about the people with whom she works, as she does about the outcomes of the assignments she undertakes.

With expertise in risk management, governance and legal and regulatory compliance, Barb draws upon two

decades of experience across multiple industry sectors including education; oil and gas; energy; renewables; telecommunications; and legal

and professional services. Most recently, Barb headed up the Regulatory Compliance discipline globally for a large oil and gas company, presenting to the CEO & Executive Team and the Board’s Audit & Risk Committee. She currently serves as Deputy Chair on the Board of an independent school in Perth.

Barb is delighted to be newly appointed as Chair of Sotos Syndrome Australasia. As a parent herself, she knows how challenging family-life can be without the added complexities of a medical diagnosis. She has witnessed firsthand the impact that Sotos Syndrome can have on families through the experience of one of her dearest friends whose daughter was born with this rare genetic disorder.

She is looking forward to contributing to improve the support available for families who are part of the Sotos Syndrome journey.
